So I still was in love with the idea of using the frozen apples in a cocktail, I just wanted it to tie into the drink more and not just be a gimmick. That led me to using Laird’s Applejack. A variation of an Old Fashioned, and the inspiration of an old tale.

An Old Fashioned Tale

1 oz Laird’s Applejack

1 oz Rye Whiskey

2-3 dashes Fee Brother’s Whisky Barrel Bitters

Agave

Cinnamon

Stir Applejack, Rye, bitters and Agave. Strain over frozen apple in Old Fashioned glass, sprinkle cinnamon on top.

Thoughts of possibly topping this with a foam are also being crafted.
